Onsite Chalet Banner Image

Completed at the end of April 2011, the newest addition to the facilities is a 20 square metre, fully fitted and insulated chalet, on two levels, nestled in the trees at the end the dam. This is an ideal addition for those people bringing their partners who crave a little more comfort.

The exterior decking provides ample space for alfresco dinning, sun bathing and a cool shaded area. A barbeque grill and sun loungers are provided.

The chalet is available for hire all year round, priced at €550.00 per week, on a self-catering basis. (Please Note - This does not include fishing).

A €100 / £100 (refundable) damage deposit (to cover damage of fixtures, fittings, furniture, etc.) is required on arrival. Please contact us for full details and availability.

During the winter closed period (November to March inclusive) we are able to offer people the opportunity to rent the chalet for Carp anglers who would like to try a winter session. It is worth noting at this point that the winters in this region can be very hard and the lake does freeze over. We will be taking reservations but, depending on weather conditions at the time, we can not guarantee you will be able to fish. Unfortunately we have no control over the weather so cannot be held responsible if lake is frozen.

The chalet has been designed and equipped to accommodate two people, self catering in comfort. A double Sofa-bed is provided on the ground floor for use when fishing overnight. The position on the lake, wood floors, double glazing and extensive wall, floor and roof insulation means that the chalet is cool in the summer and warm in the spring and autumn.

A view of the Chalet from the lake. The Chalet in Winter

The area in front of the chalet has been opened up to provide clear views from the Chalet across the lake and an area to sit and admire the abundant wildlife. The lake supports several families of Ducks and Great Crested Grede's. Heron's frequent the lake and can be observed fishing in the margins. The dawn chorus is amazing and last well over an hour. During the day, frequent visitors to swims include Chaffinches, damselflies, dragonflies and a huge variety of butterflies. If you are really lucky, you may even catch sight of Kingfisher's and the Woodpeckers, Kite's and Buzzards who nest in the surrounding forest. If you love wildlife - bring your camera - you won't be disappointed.
